We the Afghan people and its supporters condemn Amina Jane Mohammed's statement on Afghanistan and the Taliban. We believe that recognition of the Taliban movement is a step in the wrong direction. Recognition of the Taliban will only solidify their position as a genocidal dictatorship and help to keep them in power. The Taliban haven't and will never change and it is pointless to leverage recognition of an extremist terrorist organization to get them to change. We have seen with the Doha agreement that the second that the US armed forces withdrew from the country the Taliban movement did not form an inclusive government and still harbours terrorists. We have seen the previous war crimes committed by the Taliban such as after the Balkhab uprising where the Taliban executed their leader who was travelling to Iran as a refugee and non-combatant and genociding the local Hazara population in the region. We have seen the crimes against humanity and we urge Amina Jane Mohammed to retract her statement and the UN to cease talks based on recognition of the Taliban.

As the leader of this petition, I ask for all of you to resist this decision. Spread the word as we must stop the UN from recognizing the Taliban as this will be a major setback for our goal. But even if the UN does recognize the Taliban we will not back down we will continue to pressure the Taliban until we reach our goal of ending the Taliban's genocide of women in Afghanistan.
