The government are trying to BIN a vital food waste law – TAKE ACTION, sign this important new petition to save the food waste law!
Despite nearly a decade of pressure, almost all UK businesses continue to keep their food waste secret.
Now a historic law could break the deadlock.
This law would make it compulsory for larger food businesses to publicly report their food waste.
Last year thousands of you responded to the government’s consultation on this – as a result, a massive 99% of responses to the consultation were in favour of the law, including the majority of businesses themselves.
But disgracefully, the government has announced it wants to SCRAP plans for this food waste law, bowing to a minority of powerful business interests - just the latest casualty of the government's bonfire of environmental policies.
As millions go hungry and the climate crisis worsens, no food should be wasted.
What isn't measured, doesn't get managed.
Our friends at Feedback have started an important new petition to fight back against this terrible decision, and save the food waste law.
There’s over 300,000 of us – if we all come together, we could really kick up a fuss to make the government think twice about scrapping this law! With an election looming, it’s also important to show how much this issue means for parties drawing up their manifestoes.
Take action – sign the petition!
(And please spread it far and wide with your friends/on social media!)
