In a shocking revelation, publicly available documents have exposed a troubling reality: the three schools that the TDSB has decided to rename—Ryerson Community School, Sir John A. Macdonald CI, and Dundas Junior Public School—all suffer from urgent building issues.
These schools have critical infrastructure in dire condition, with essential systems barely functioning and long past their expected lifespan. This includes failing stacks, water boilers, water tanks, drainage systems, and more. In fact, Ryerson alone has 18 urgent repairs that require immediate attention.
Faced with such a crisis—and a significant budget shortfall—every dollar must be carefully allocated. Yet, the same trustees who claim there is no money to fix these schools are wasting $180,000 on renaming them instead.
If this blatant mismanagement and betrayal of parents and taxpayers outrages you as much as it does us, we urge you to share this petition with your networks. It is crucial that we send a strong message and rally more signatories to demand accountability.
Together, we can make a difference!
Thank you!
