URGENT: Two weeks to have your say on the 150 Housing Commission homes at Sydney Olympic Park
Hello everyone,
Thank you for signing our petition to oppose the proposed 150 Housing Commission homes at 2A-4 Edwin Flack Avenue, Sydney Olympic Park.
Thanks to your support, more than 1,800 people have already added their voices to this campaign. That is an incredible show of community concern, but our work is not over.
WE NOW HAVE JUST TWO WEEKS TO MAKE OUR VOICES HEARD.
The formal public exhibition of the State Significant Development Application is underway, and submissions close on Friday 20 November 2026.
This is a critical opportunity for residents to formally raise their concerns directly with the NSW Government.
Issues residents may wish to consider in their submissions include:
- The impact of an additional 150 Housing Commission homes on an already growing precinct.
- Traffic congestion, parking pressures and public transport capacity.
- Whether local schools, healthcare and other essential services can meet increased demand.
- Emergency access and evacuation arrangements, particularly during major events.
- Construction impacts, including noise, dust, vibration, traffic disruption and pedestrian safety.
- Tree removal, landscaping, stormwater management and potential environmental impacts.
- The cumulative impact of this proposal alongside other developments and major infrastructure projects in the area.
PLEASE DON'T RELY ON THE PETITION ALONE
A petition demonstrates the strength of community feeling, but I strongly encourage every supporter to read the application documents and lodge their own submission before the deadline.
You do not need to be an expert or write pages of technical language. Explain in your own words what concerns you and how you believe this proposal could affect you, your family and our community.
