The petition for No Plaza continues to grow - now over 900. We will let you know when the downtown workshop series will be starting so that everyone can be involved!

The discussion about "walkability" and "pedestrian-friendly" is also something we are keeping a close eye on as this notion was used to push the Plaza. The fact is that Clarendon Hills is already a small suburban village nestled with all homes and businesses close to a SINGLE METRA train stop that takes people to work and a single road over those tracks to get us all to both sides, North and South, to reach the sought-after School Districts of D181 & D86!

We are ALREADY about as walkable as walkable can get in a COLD WEATHER climate! So, we will remain vigilant about protecting our safe and proven vehicle and pedestrian passages without destroying what is beautiful and unique about Clarendon Hills. (For example, you may have noticed that the intersection at Norfolk and Chicago Avenues was recently turned into a four-way stop, and our beautiful entrance triangle into Clarendon Hills was sadly destroyed as part with that reconstruction.) We do NOT want more unique elements in our already quaint and walkable Village to get bulldozed.

To this end, we also are keeping an eye on the potential safety and re-zoning issue at 104 Walker right near our Walker Elementary School/neighborhood homes. Please read, sign and share that petition as well: https://chng.it/sqBt4cKyCK

Thank you.
