Hi folks,
The results of my latest foi requests have produced no big surprises but still raise concerns over Natural England's decisions, especially with regard to the high numbers of birds potentially affected under some individual licences.
You can read my latest update HERE, which examines one such licence that Natural England issued for the destruction of hundreds of duck eggs at a wetland nature reserve. Is it ethical to protect one species at the expense of another....?
Comments welcome.
Meanwhile, in a blog post at the end of last month, Natural England said that they are determined to "learn lessons ......in terms of how we ensure that the evidence on which we base decisions is sound...."
Progress, hopefully,....no doubt influenced by our campaign, which continues apace!
Best,
Jase
