First of all, THANK YOU. Take a look at the stats in the image above! Hitting over 4,000 signatures just proves that East Brandywine Township stands united against industrial spot zoning in our residential neighborhoods.
The pressure is working. The Township just released the official agendas for this week's meetings, and Data Center Ordinances are officially on the docket for both Wednesday and Thursday.
It might be tempting to just sit back and wait for the delayed formal zoning hearing in August to make our voices heard. But delay is not a defense, and we cannot afford to wait. If we hold our silence until the August hearing, it will be too late. We must speak up prior to that hearing to ensure the Township puts proactive protections in place right now.
It appears the Township listened to the community! The Board of Supervisors is preparing to vote on Thursday, June 4th, 2026 @ 9:00 AM on sending a "Draft Ordinance Regarding Data Center Uses" to the County for review.
As you may or may not know, the Township has been working on modernizing our aging 1989 zoning code for a long time. However, before those updates could be fully completed and adopted, this developer filed their "Curative Amendment" to force a data center into the R-2 district. Because our older code does not explicitly account for modern industrial uses like data centers, our neighborhoods are left vulnerable to this kind of aggressive rezoning attempt..
Our fight is not over; it is just entering a new phase. We need to pack the room at the Township Building to support the completion of this ordinance and ensure it strictly prohibits data centers in residential zones:
📅 Wednesday, June 3 at 7:00 PM Planning Commission Meeting (Meeting Hall) Action Item: Ordinance updates regarding Data Center use.
📅 Thursday, June 4 at 9:00 AM Board of Supervisors Regular AM Session (Meeting Hall) Action Item: Referral of Draft Ordinance Regarding Data Center Uses.
What you can do right now:
Attend one or both meetings. We need to support strong zoning protections and ask the hard questions during public comment.
Share this petition. Send it to 3 neighbors today.
Let's keep the momentum going.
