Dummer Parish Council sought protection for the Oakdown Oaks from Basingstoke Council by applying for Tree Preservation Orders on the trees.  This request was never processed. The Council said that if permission for the warehouses were granted, the TPOs would not make any difference.  SO MUCH FOR THE EFFECTIVENESS OF TREE PRESERVATION ORDERS!!
