The appalling prospect of the obliteration of the countryside on the west of Basingstoke continues. Much loved trees on the A30 have already been felled. 67 oaks + 3 beech trees in the Oakdown Farm avenue plus 13 individual oaks elsewhere on the site will disappear if the warehouse plans go ahead. It would take at least 50 years for any new trees to begin to match what will be lost. This is vandalism in the name of short-term economic gain.
