As you may know, the Seattle City Council has faced significant opposition from the public on a number of new policies they’ve considered this year—including the plan to nearly double rates for rideshare. Despite tens of thousands of petition signatures opposing a City-mandated increase in rideshare rates, the Council unanimously passed a resolution supporting the idea. While they've been focused on other issues, we've responded to their request for additional information. We, along with other rideshare companies, have developed a first-of-its-kind data sharing proposal that would give elected officials aggregated information about driver earnings while keeping your privacy and confidentiality a priority. We’ve submitted the proposal to the Council and hope they’ll be willing to collaborate on solutions that are fair for everyone.
