TOMORROW — Historic Board Hearing at 6 PM. We Need You There.

We've passed 500 signatures. Tomorrow we find out if it matters.
The Lowell Historic Board will hear the proposed development at 675 Andover Street tomorrow, Monday, October 19 at 6:00 PM in the Mayor's Reception Room at City Hall, 375 Merrimack Street.
This is the first time any board will vote on whether this project should move forward. Signatures alone don't stop a permit, we need people in the room.
📅 When: Monday, October 19, 2026 — 6:00 PM 📍 Where: Mayor's Reception Room, City Hall, 375 Merrimack Street, Lowell 📋 Case: ASND-27-1
Here's how you can help — today and tomorrow:
1. Send an email BEFORE 4:00 PM tomorrow (Monday). Written comments must be received by 4 PM to be part of the official record. Send to:
Stephen Stowell — sstowell@lowellma.gov
cc: dricker@lowellma.gov, mbrundage@lowellma.gov
It doesn't need to be long. A few sentences in your own words is more powerful than a form letter. Tell them you oppose the development at 675 Andover Street and why — whether it's the impact on the historic district, fire safety, the precedent of a flag lot, or simply that you believe this neighborhood is worth protecting.
2. Show up tomorrow at 6 PM. You don't have to speak. The Board sees who's in the room. A full room sends a message that no letter can.
3. Share this update. If you know someone who cares about the Belvidere neighborhood, the historic district, or responsible development in Lowell — send them this link today. Every voice counts, especially in the next 24 hours.
We have built something real here — over 500 people and neighbors from across the district. Tomorrow is where it matters.
See you at City Hall.
