Hello Everyone!

Please keep sharing this petition.  Can you imagine a world now, without Airbnb? This last week have read of more people backing away from PHoSTRA because of these prohibitive and punitive Local Government taxes. It is such a shame. And not good for the community.  That these homes will not be utilised to their full, is in effect wastage, a waste of infrastructure capability.  Not only will there be less income to tax and less wealth created by the hosts, there will be less direct and in-direct local jobs. 

Airbnb is so central to Australian politics at the moment. Firstly and wrongly, due to a housing crisis. Secondly as cash strapped States grasp for new income streams, Airbnb created wealth looks very attractive...

As much as I recognise that tax is inevitable, it needs to be fair to hosts and guests and most importantly equitable for all. Not just some lucky Councils who happen to have PHoSTRA within their jurisdiction and are gouging like crazy before State intervention.
