We discussed the FDA and State Boards of Pharmacy's lack of urgency and care on this critical issue. We discussed the temperature issues throughout the supply chain.
I'll be in Arizona at a Board of Pharmacy Meeting on August 17th if anyone wants to listen in and possibly provide public comment; these meetings are usually broadcast on Arizona's Board of Pharmacy Youtube Page. Another patient and I have asked the Board if other patients would be allowed to speak, but we have not received a response.
To this date, 8/12/23, the Board of Pharmacy has not updated its public agenda, so I have very few details to provide. Sadly, that's common with Boards of Pharmacy. When it is updated, it will be posted here.
I cannot emphasize enough to patients and community members who care about this issue to get involved and attend public meetings at your State's Board of Pharmacy. File complaints when you see problems interfering with safe pharmacy and medication access, whether it be consistent understaffing of pharmacies or unsafe storage of medications. Demand that penalties occur at the corporate/executive level as corporate policies demand these unethical acts, such as unsafe shipping and storage of medications. Also, speak to your legislators about these issues.
