Mr. Granelly, City Councillor of Milan, has suspended the eviction of the 20 families of Via Idro!!! On January 15th he will meet the families and activists to discuss the alternative housing he wants to offer –which we believe is still not acceptable. Also, he has planned evictions of two other ‘regular camps’ in Spring. Some touching news: Children from the school of the Roma kids send a letter to the Mayor of Milan asking not to take their friend from the school  See letter attached We keep you posted, meanwhile please continue supporting us, Roma from via Idro, Consulta Rom e Sinti di Milano and ERGO Network Letter Via Idra school to mayor of Milan, Giuliano Pisapia Milan, January 8, 2016 Dear Mr. Mayor, We are the kids of the 3A class of elementary school "Russo-Pimentel" and we would like to speak about the problem of one little girl, Elyson. Elyson is our friend who lives in the via Idro Roma camp. There she has her house, her dogs Nebbia and Fiocco, and a large pine tree that her grandfather planted when they had settled there more than 25 years ago. Before the holidays, the teacher asked us what we wanted for Christmas. Everyone has said what he or she had written in the letter to Santa Claus, but then Elyson she started to cry and so we knew that she was going to have a bad Christmas because she have to leave her house and go and live in a container. We understood that a container is a kind of large metal box ... but Elyson is not a doll that fits in a box! Elyson is a good friend, generous, friendly, and always smiling. She has become the best friend of Christopher, our special companion who does not speak, but he is happy with Elyson. If Elyson goes away, how will do Christopher to stay with us without her help? He will also suffer a lot! Our class is like a puzzle: sometimes it becomes bigger because new tiles join us, but if we lose one tile, the puzzle can no longer be complete. We learned that no one can live alone and then we join our forces and our voices to ask you to leave Elyson and the others in their homes as long as there will not be another house ready, but close to the school, so Elyson can continue to grow with us. Mr. Mayor help us, please, in holding together the puzzle of our class. Elyson’s friends: Sashmitha, Alexander, Margaret, Jun Jie, Joele, Sarah, Sagar, David, Gaia, Biva, Paul, Dian, Nika, Sunnane, Clyde, Youssef, Virginia, Marim, Mohamed, Lovely, Arthur, Nicole, Christopher.
