You stood with us before. Today, I'm asking you to read this.

Dear Supporter,

Thank you once again for supporting our petition to stop Donald Trump addressing the UK Parliament.

Whether people agreed or disagreed with that campaign, more than 58,000 people chose to stand up for something they believed mattered.

Today, I'm writing to ask for something very different.

I'm not asking you to sign another petition because you signed that one.

I'm simply asking you to spend two minutes reading this one before deciding for yourself.

In just 11 days, more than 47,000 people have already signed a new national petition calling on the Prime Minister to make sustainable hospice funding a national priority.

But the signatures aren't what moved me most.

It's the people behind them.

More than 100 patients, bereaved husbands, wives, partners, sons, daughters and carers have shared some of the most personal experiences of their lives.

People like Anna, whose partner died on a busy hospital ward after their local hospice had closed all its inpatient beds.

Maria, whose 39-year-old daughter spent her final five weeks in a hospice.

"None of this could have been done in a hospital bed or at home. She passed with dignity."
And Karen, who is living with stage 4 cancer and simply wrote:

"Please keep all hospices open at full capacity."
Those are just three of more than 100 voices.

Nearly 300 Parliamentarians from across both Houses have already lent their support to the wider campaign because they recognise the pressures facing hospice care.

Whether you ultimately decide to sign or not, I'd simply ask that you read the petition and the comments before making up your own mind.
