A local news syndicate that is one of the largest nationally in Canada, has looked into the story and the City of Toronto is telling them that the event is allowed as long as it's under 25 people, so they will not be proceeding with the story at this time...
Unfortunately, there are so many unhoused in the city of Toronto that it is impossible for a food and clothing event to remain under 25 people because there are thousands looking for direct aid. Many of our events have up to 100 people lined up waiting to get food. Are we supposed to turn them away because it's over 25 people, including 10-12 volunteers too?
WHAT WE'RE DOING ABOUT IT: We will be hosting a rally in Nathan Phillips square, in front of City Hall on November 13th at 11:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.
