Thankfully it wasn't as chilly as the week before and more good news, we had some wonderful new folks join us this week!
Based on conversations with people who are actively reaching out to others, it appears that the number of Leominster citizens informed about the proposal to put a horse race track on top of the old Mechanic Street landfill is rough estimate of 50%, which is a substantial improvement from last week when it appeared to only be around 33%.
This means that sharing this petition and the site dumpthefairgrounds.com and the rallies are getting the word out! This is imperative because people cannot help to stop this if they are unaware of the situation and what they can do.
The action with the most impact right now is emailing the city councilors and other officials. It can be as simple as;
"Hi I'm xxxxxxxx, I live at xxxxxxx and I'm completely opposed to horse racing in Leominster."
Can even copy and past that and drop your info in. To make things even easier here's the email list of folks to send to. Please copy all when sending as this provides accountability.
