Final Update: Good News Regarding Ambassador Bhasin

Hello Everyone! 

I hope this message finds you all well!

I am delighted to share the news that Ambassador Bhasin will teach in the Department of Political Science for another academic year (AY 21-22). He will teach POL 313 (Problems in International Relations) and POL 339 (Contemporary China) in the fall semester of 2021 and POL 390 (Diplomacy) and POL 338 (Contemporary India) in the spring semester of 2022. This has been confirmed by an email sent by the Political Science Department Chair, Professor Leonie Huddy.

The email sent to Political Science students also states that Ambassador Bhasin will be called upon to help Stony Brook University to help sustain the legacy that he has established at Stony Brook into the future. There is no doubt that Ambassador Bhasin, throughout his career at Stony Brook University, has taught students to look at the world from a global perspective, while also increasing student's understanding of international diplomacy and relations. 

Although formally Ambassador Bhasin has only been granted a one-year extension to his contract, we hope to see him continue to teach at Stony Brook University for years to come.
