The newly appointed Minister of Environmental Affairs Minister Mokonyane is said to have made the decision to appoint an advisory committee with regard to decisions to be taken about Rhino and Rhino Horn. 

We need to insist that this committee consists of economists and scientists who believe, and who have sound scientific and economic proof, that the legalization of the rhino horn trade is not feasible. 

We know and have proved that there is no market for legal rhino horn trade South Africa, by legalizing the trade we have damaged South Africa’s conservation image. 

We cannot continue ask the world to provide assistance with the conservation of our wildlife and at the same time trade with horn and ivory.
