Gladys Berejiklian hosted a commemoration with many influential Aboriginal Elders, people and non-aboriginal people to mark the 50th Anniversary of the 1967 Referendum and Milestones in the Journey towards Reconciliation with Aboriginal Australians. I was very inspired by the speech Gladys gave and impressed with the positive impact she already has on Aboriginal people. Although I didn't get the opportunity to say g'day and introduce myself as the face behind the campaign, I have a feeling of assurance that in hearing what Ms Berejiklian had to say about reconciliation and acknowledgement of Aboriginal culture, that my aspiration to fly the Aboriginal flag permanently on Sydney Harbour bridge is achievable. For that I thank Ms Berejiklian, and the people who have agreed to move forward as a nation as Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people. Incredible Aboriginal entertainment performed by Uncle Archie Roach and Koomurri.
