The moment that changed My life.
I am a Canadian who survived 10 months of unlawful detention in the UAE (Al-Sadr State Security Prison, June 2024–April 2025). I was accused of “cursing the police,” yet I faced no formal charge, no court, no conviction, and no due process. I was denied insulin, PTSD medication, a CPAP machine, and even basic BP/glucose checks. Canadian officials documented my deterioration but deferred my life-saving care to the very prison authorities who were depriving it.
Your voice and my voice together can make change. I’ve filed a Parliamentary Petition (e-6727) for justice and consular policy reform so no Canadian is left unprotected in a crisis abroad. I have records to prove what happened—emails, consular reports, and Canadian medical documentation. I’m still dealing with health complications today.
This is a matter of public interest, not just my personal ordeal. My case has already been covered on Canadian television:
