To everyone who stood with BuBu,

I want to begin with thank you.
Every message, every signature, every share — you gave BuBu a voice when she no longer could speak for herself. You stood with our family in our darkest moment, and we will never forget that.

 

When we first shared BuBu’s story, it came from a place of deep shock, grief, and the need for accountability. No family should experience what happened to her. Because of your support, her story reached people, raised awareness, and demanded better.

 

Today, I want to share an important update.

 

The owner of Paw Sweet Paw sold the business last August, and the new company that has taken over has since reached out to us directly. While nothing can undo what happened, this is a meaningful step forward. It represents change, accountability, and a shift that would not have happened without all of you standing with us.

But beyond everything — today is also about BuBu.

 

Recently, I found the strength to face her again. I went to see her preserved body and to say goodbye properly. I told her that we will meet again one day, and that she will come running to me, just like she always did.

BuBu was happiest running freely in Hawaii, full of life, joy, and love.
So we have decided to cremate her and bring her home to Honolulu — to the place where she was truly happy — and let her be free.

 

BuBu taught us something we will carry for the rest of our lives — to live fully until the very last moment, and to love without holding back.

This is not an ending in tragedy.
This is us choosing peace for her.

BuBu’s story began with love, and it will end with love.

 

Thank you for helping us honor her life, protect other dogs, and turn pain into purpose. Because of you, BuBu’s life — and her voice — made a difference.

We will carry her with us, always.
