A new commission has been formed in Sheffield with the aim of highlighting and tackling racial inequalities, including those in education. With Tinsley being in a council ward which is 53.8% BME and having the worst reading attainment in the city at Key Stage 2 at 39%, this is obviously an inequality to be addressed. Please consider emailing Councillor Abitisam Mohammed who is leading the council's work on this, and ask for Tinsley Carnegie library to be reopened to help alleviate the inequality in education in the area.
