Aurora Mayor Mike Coffman: Tell your Sister City, Seongnam, South Korea, that you are opposed to the torture and consumption of dogs and cats.

Seongnam became a Sister City with Aurora, Colorado in 1992.
 
Seongnam Moran Market is the largest dog meat market and Seongnam is the largest dog meat supplier city in South Korea. In Seongnam, there are countless dog meat shops, farms, slaughterhouses, markets, and restaurants where the dogs, who are tortured their entire lives, end up being slaughtered in the most inhumane ways, such as by electrocution, hanging, or beating; and then thrown into boiling water – sometimes while they are still alive. In many places, dogs are being killed in full view of other terrified, caged dogs. In addition, many abandoned and stolen former pets end up in this industry and are subject to the same cruelty.
 
We cannot stand by while Seongnam continues to deceive us and inflict unimaginable cruelty on animals who consider humans guardians and companions. So we are now asking Aurora Mayor Mike Coffman and the Aurora City Council members to urge Seongnam to stop the dog and cat meat industry in their city – an illegal, brutal, and diabolical industry.
