We did it! In just three days, we crowd funded the $10,150 we need to make sure Priya has expert legal support when she appeals to the Federal Court at the end of August.

Now, every extra dollar will bring us closer to our goal – a massive billboard in the heart of Peter Dutton’s Brisbane electorate: chuffed.org/project/hometobilo

Last Wednesday night, as we gathered in a local church hall for Biloela’s first ever “Community Tamil Feast,” Priya joined us by speaker-phone.

“My life started in Biloela,” Priya told us. “Biloela people are my family.”

“I miss you Biloela.”

Six weeks ago, this would have been impossible. Thanks to successful legal action by the National Justice Project on behalf of 80 detained asylum seekers, Priya and Nades can use their mobile phones to stay in touch with us.

But it is going to take much more than successful legal action to bring this family home to Biloela.

Incredibly, Australia’s confusing, contradictory immigration system means that Border Force could tear Priya’s family apart. Husband Nades and baby Tharunicaa could be forced from Australia – even if Priya’s appeal succeeds.

Regardless of what happens in court, we need Mr Dutton to use his power under Australian law to bring this beautiful family home to Biloela. That's why I need your help to send Mr Dutton a sign he can’t miss.

Will you help me put up a massive billboard a few hundred metres down the road from Mr Dutton’s electorate office in Strathpine, Queensland? You can chip in at chuffed.org/project/hometobilo

And if you have already chipped in – thank you so much!

Angela
