We’re thrilled to announce that the Friends of Washington Park and Zoo Railway (FWPZR) has received confirmation from the IRS of our 501c(3) charitable non-profit status. The mission of the FWPZR is the preservation, repair, secured ongoing operation, and the ecological restoration of the full Washington Park and Zoo Railway that runs between the Oregon Zoo and the International Rose Test Garden.
The FWPZR is now officially an IRS registered 501c(3) Oregon Domestic Nonprofit Corporation!

Upcoming Events:
We have three tabling summer events scheduled. If you’re interested in becoming a volunteer to help please come to a training we’re hosting. This training will take place at the tables near the steps leading up to the Washington Park Train Station across the street from the International Rose Test Garden. At the training we will announce the three dates. Otherwise the events will be posted to our website calendar and facebook calendar at least one week in advance. Please remember parking is $2/hour and there is a free shuttle that runs through the park.

GoFundMe:
Many have asked about a GoFundMe campaign. We do intend to launch one but we are staging certain events for momentum building to maximise our media exposure for when our GoFundMe campaign is launched. It’s coming but we must make sure that this is more than just a flash in the pan.
