Hello everybody!
Since my most recent update to you, we've seen a huge uptick in the number of signatures to #SaveTheVolcano -- currently at 6,405 and rising quickly!
There are a few reasons behind this rise:
- TV news coverage
- Newspaper coverage
- Blogger coverage
- No word yet from Hard Rock vis-a-vis The Volcano's fate
- So, The Volcano still needs our help!
To this point, we're working a few more angles that can hopefully bring us closer toward victory.
We're in the middle of another media blitz!
Our first round of media coverage began three months ago, in February of this year, and it was a huge success. We gained the world's attention to #SaveTheVolcano by coverage from local Las Vegas media (newspaper and TV) and an article that went internationally viral across the Internet.
Round 1 put us on the global stage, but it didn't elicit a response from Hard Rock, especially not yet from their CEO Jim Allen.
This silence from Hard Rock has raised more than a few eyebrows. The media is as in-the-dark as we are, as my media contacts have confirmed to me that they haven't yet heard from Hard Rock's management or PR team regarding The Volcano's fate.
I think this is good news for #SaveTheVolcano. Honestly, thanks to the 6,400+ signatories and legitimate curiosity from major media, I think Hard Rock has begun to reconsider their plans to demolish it.
Which is mainly why Alexis and I have continued to push forward!
I think it's also the reason why major media, in Las Vegas and abroad, began Round 2 of coverage and exposure for #SaveTheVolcano. Thank you to all (you know whom you are)!
Round 2 is going to bring you even MORE surprises!
Though I am super-eager to reveal them to you early... I can't! ;)
Just know that we have a few surprises for #SaveTheVolcano that are coming very soon. They're going to be worth the wait, I can definitely assure you.
I recommend you follow us on Twitter for the most timely updates. I will also publish updates via this newsletter as the surprises are revealed.
Finally... please note that donations via Change.org go to Change.org, NOT to us!
We have had almost $1,000 USD donated to #SaveTheVolcano (and thank you for this!) -- but we have received $0 of that money. Why?
If you donate through Change.org, the money is taken by Change.org, and in return our petition receives a certain amount of paid-promotion on the Change.org website.
Why is this not an effective way to donate to #SaveTheVolcano? Because, as Change.org's statistics show us, this money is being spent terribly incorrectly. Currently, it's costing us between $1-2 USD for every signature we receive by Change.org's paid-promotion scheme. In other words, we all have paid $1,000 for 500 signatures, and spent $0 to receive the remaining 5,900 signatures.
I hope you see why I am urging you to donate to us directly instead of paying Change.org. We cannot afford to make any promotional materials or launch any more-effective awareness campaigns with your money unless you donate to us directly.
Please visit our GoFundMe campaign if you wish to donate to the #SaveTheVolcano effort. (Or, via Cash App to my cashtag, $brazenest). Thank you!!

Until next time (which, I promise you, shall be very soon from now)...
