Well done to everyone who has supported this cause so far! It really means a lot to local residents and it will save the nation a lot of money in the long run if this crazy Garden Bridge doesn't go ahead.
Transport for London arranged a 'public consultation' about it in November 2013 - yes, did you know about that? It was only made public on their website!
But this 'consultation' is what the Garden Bridge Trust is basing their fairy tale idea on; according to them, the nation 'wants' this bridge. I bet they did...when they thought it was privately funded! But now it's biting into our wallets - BIG TIME.
TfL promised: 'The project will only proceed if the Trust is able to raise sufficient funding to build the new bridge and maintain it in the future'
The Garden Bridge Trust promises:
'The Trust will raise the majority of funds to build the bridge through donations from private individuals, trusts, foundations, and corporate gifts. A public fundraising campaign will also be launched in the spring of 2015.'
NEITHER OF THESE PROMISES HAVE BEEN MET YET HERE THEY ARE SAYING IT'S WHAT WE WANT!
Please continue to support this cause and pass it on to everyone you know. Tweet and Facebook it; share it on Linked In and any other social medium you can think of! We must stop them from selling us down the river!
THANKS!
P.S. You may not be a Lambeth resident but EVERY signature counts. Our councillors are only supposed to speak for us but it's hard to ignore the strength of feeling about this from all over the country as this bridge is supposed to be for the nation, not just for business/rich investors.
