Thames Central Open Spaces is hosting a public meeting chaired by Kate Hoey MP, to discuss the Garden Bridge on:
Monday 16th May at 7pm (doors 6.30pm)
St John’s Waterloo
Waterloo Road
London
SE1 8TY
This will be the first chance for us to tell the new London mayor unequivocally, that Londoners don’t want it and don’t want the mayor to spend money on it. Even the Evening Standard newspaper which usually champions the Garden Bridge, held a poll recently where 60% voted against it.
We shall have a panel of eminent speakers and experts on hand to answer questions on a broad range of topics e.g. procurement, money, public opinion and how far the development still has to go given it faces another potential legal challenge - just as it did a year ago when we held our last public meeting.
Please come and join us; refreshments will be available.
Meanwhile a group of local councillors acted swiftly on behalf of constituents and called in the decision to allow Coin Street Community Builders to vary their lease which would enable the Garden Bridge Trust to sublet and privatise OUR open public space for their vainglorious folly.
Please join us in supporting these brave councillors on Thursday 21st April at Lambeth's Oversight and Scrutiny meeting which starts at 7pm.
Venue: 110 Union Street (Springfield Community and Health Centre), London, SW8 2SH
