Hello Friends of the 2013 Heritage Oak!

You will be pleased to know that the owner of the nearly 12-acre parcel on which this tree is located has made an application through Rural and Critical Lands of the Open Land Trust to offer this property for sale to Beaufort County as a passive park. On March 13 at 3:00 pm, Beaufort County Council will meet in their chambers at 100 Ribaut Road to consider proceeding with the due diligence process to purchase this tract.

It is critically important that we demonstrate community support for this purchase. Toward that end I am asking for your help to gather more signatures for our petition. Please consider sharing a link to the petition with your contacts and inviting them to share it with theirs.  The Friends of White Hall Park managed to get 6000 signatures, let's see if we can match their numbers! If possible please also consider attending the Beaufort County Council meeting on the 13th of March. Your interest and involvement does make a difference!
