Shortly after the presentation, members of the Council were quick to inform the public that, despite being one third owners of the railroad, they were left out of all discussions. Below is a short transcript of part of that conversation: Rick McKinney: We were as surprised as you were. We weren’t consulted on this at all. Steve Schwartz: If you remember, we had organized a meeting and nobody came. Brad Beaver: That’s right. We invited Fishers, the [Hoosier Heritage] Port Authority, everybody, to a public hearing after the picture came out in the paper; nobody came. Steve Schwartz: Nobody came. Jeff Hern: We’ve not seen any possible plans of what either city is wanting to do, or what the Mayors are doing, or anything. And we’ve not been asked [for] any money.
