Hello all,

Here's a quick update on all the latest developments since you kindly signed the Save The Loop petition!  We're making progress....

1) The media has started to cover our campaign!  Thanks to your help and everyone's efforts, the Save The Loop petition has been making headlines over the past week.  MyLondon, South London Press and the News Shopper have all covered it, and 853 London and SE Nine Magazine reported on the petition and shared the link with their readers.

2) Southeastern are feeling the pressure.  As a result of all this campaigning, Southeastern have now publicly repeated their commitment to me to look again at the Sidcup Line to Woolwich Line loop - they're now talking about potential "flexibilities" for loop trains in the timetables for specific uses.  But we need the *whole service* re-instated!

3) More backing for the campaign... Following my and other Greenwich councillors' grilling of Southeastern boss Steve White last month, my colleagues on Bexley Council raised Save The Loop with him again at their public meeting on Wednesday night - leaving him in no doubt about how much local people value the loop train. The petition is being backed by Louie French MP, Sir Bob Neill MP, Assembly Member Peter Fortune and councillors across Greenwich, Bromley and Bexley.

We're fast approaching 2,000 signatures!  Please keep sharing the petition on Whatsapp, Facebook and by email so we can pass the 2,000 mark and hand the petition in to Southeastern.

And finally here's a new Facebook video from me on why the loop train is so important (please share far and wide here).

Thank you for your continued help, and as soon as I have any more news on Southeastern's response, I will let you know!

Best wishes,
Matt
