We can celebrate reaching 5,000 signatures for this important petition! Now we have many voices for our companion animals who are being euthanized for space. Jefferson deserved a chance to live in a new home, with his own family, and be loved perhaps for the first time. He didn’t get it, just as Snowball, Roux and all the others who lost their life in the span of days this March.
They, and many others, had a heart, a personality, a way to make us smile. They are gone, just like that, known only by the volunteers at the shelter.
With these 5,000 signatures, each one a clamor for Justice, we are saying, “Stop. There is another way!” And we will be going to the local media. With 2,500 more, equaling 7,500, we can go to Chicago’s new Mayor and the city council.
Remember tonight, March 30, we’ll see if enough people submitted questions about CACC to have this previously ignored agency mentioned. Thank you, one and all, for the generous heart that brought you here, and keep sharing!
