As the Hammersmith & Fulham Council own the neighbouring land area known as ‘the Old Laundry Site Area’ that may be considered to be key to implementing the developer’s proposed planning application 2023/01093/FUL, it may be interesting to see where the Hammersmith & Fulham Council will place their allegiance. Might it be with the developer/applicant or will the Hammersmith & Fulham Council place the welfare of the local residents and businesses as their first and foremost priority?

Neighbouring residents have expressed alarm regarding the developer’s application and the Greenside Residents Action Grouphave submitted their objection to the planning application 2023/01093/FUL.

The Greenside Residents Action Group has raised several concerns including:

  • The applicant’s interpretation of consultations conducted with residents & traders.
  • The applicant’s proposals to weaken the market traders’ occupancy terms & conditions,
  • The application’s apparent compromise to the conservation area.
  • The application’s compromise to the sightlines due to the proposed 120 ft structure, which may severely shadow the surrounding area.
  • The application’s threat of noise pollution
  • Concerns relating to negative effects on parking, traffic, and subsequent air pollution.
  • 'Intimidation'
