Hi all,
Thank you. Because of your support, YouTube has reinstated Peshay’s iconic 1996 Studio Set. Public pressure works, but seriously, this is just the beginning.
Here’s What Happened:
🔵 YouTube Restored the Mix – After an overwhelming backlash, YouTube acknowledged the claimant’s flawed takedown request. This is a win, but…
🔴 They Struck Again – The same claimant targeted our Shazam proof video on Archive.org, trying again to erase evidence of their disputed claims.
This proves the system remains flawed. Automated takedowns still let bad actors silence artists with a click. In effect, we are back to square one, if the claimant decides to chance his arm again, YouTube say they will take the video down, again.
Why This Matters Beyond Peshay:
Legacy music isn’t just about nostalgia – it’s our cultural history. If a drum & bass pioneer like Peshay can be erased overnight, absolutely no artist is safe.
What You Can Do Now:
Please share the Petition far and wide – We’re close to 2500 signatures. Help us hit this milestone today.
Amplify the Story – Post about #SavePeshayMix on social media. Tag @YouTube and demand accountability.
Stay Vigilant – Follow Peshay’s journey on Facebook, Instagram and X (Twitter) for real-time updates.
This fight isn’t just for Peshay – it’s for every artist whose work could vanish tomorrow.
With gratitude,
Ron Pye
