We are excited to let you know that we have recently made a fantastic connection to a wonderful lady who began an almost identical petition at the same time as ours, Cllr. Geva Blackett.
It was following the terrifying experience that her and others around the country had to endure during storm Arwen and others towards the end of last year which lasted for weeks. Rural communities in Aberdeenshire and beyond had no power, no broadband, no mobile signal (not even 2G as masts were down) and no digital phone lines to call for help. People resorted to searching for homes that still had analogue phonelines.
So we now ask if you would please sign Geva's petition by clicking the link, and share it on as many platforms as possible.
So this means that we are now operating as an organised network of people, who all share your concerns about the digital switchover from all across the UK, with the support of the National Pensioners Convention. We will be working hard to put pressure on those that have the power to make change, and calling for choice, awareness, and for the improved reliability and resilience of our phone lines.
Thank you so much for signing our petition and we hope that you can continue to SHARE it, as well as to ask your family, friends, and colleagues to WRITE to their local MP about their concerns. Please don't forget to COMMENT on both petitions, to explain why you signed and your concerns or experiences.
Once again THANK YOU, we still NEED YOU as we have only just begun!...
