Good morning!
I hope everyone gets to enjoy the beautiful Saturday morning we're having in Waterloo region.
Thank you to everyone who's signed and brought us to over 500 supporters. Thank you for sharing and speaking about the petition to your friends and connections in our neighbourhoods.
Your comments regarding how the cancellation of the #2 bus will affect your access to your doctors and how it would impact your daily commute are so valuable and concerning. We should have been given the opportunity to voice our concerns as soon as route #2 was originally being considered for cancellation, but I am very encouraged that we are now.
Yesterday (Friday April 14th), my husband Matt and I were featured in a Waterloo Region Record article about route #2 and the lack of public engagement. Despite the headline (which gave us a good chuckle), we appreciated the well balanced article which also highlighted GRT and the Region's side of the issue and their plan of action.
In other news, I've spoken to Kitchener Ward 8 councillor Margaret Johnston a few times, and she has let me know her office will work with GRT and the regional representatives to schedule the information and community feedback sessions Mr. Spooner talks about in the article. We'll be sharing any scheduled session information with you via updates like this. Ms. Johnston has been a fantastic supporter and communicator, I am really grateful to have her as our city councillor.
If you have questions or would like talk about something regarding route #2 please feel free to email me, Meredith, at savegrtroute2@gmail.com
Enjoy the day everyone and thank you again!
