Why would Dippikill absorb the cost of the $500,000 settlement with Dippikill staff and make a payment plan rather than file a claim with their insurance company when they have $1m employment practices insurance as per this certificate of insurance obtained through FOIL... other than to come up with a reason to defund staff salaries?
We're betting they were waiting to file on the insurance until AFTER they got the Senate to defund Dippikill staff...
Nothing is stopping us from filing a FOIL request every 90 days asking for all insurance claims filed each quarter.
Someone is either incompetent or is trying to pull a fast one here.
