The online and paper petitions count total is now at 1,608. The online petition has surpassed 1,000 names and will continue to collect signatures until at least October 11th. Please speak to your neighbours, relatives, coworkers and friends about how important it is to save this beautiful historic shoreline park from this misguided infrastructure project. Remind them to sign the savenorthshorepark.org petition to tell Mayor Mike Smith and The Town of Saugeen Shores Council no splash pad in North Shore Park! If North Shore Park is to be saved it is up to each and everyone of us to do our part. Call or write a letter to the Mayor and the Councillors. Tell them to find a more suitable location to build the splash pad and that they need to preserve 100% of this quiet and peaceful public greenspace. Let them know that the majority in this community do not want a splash pad placed anywhere within North Shore Park! The Save North Shore Park Petition will be on the agenda for the upcoming Council meeting on Tuesday, October 11th. This meeting starts at 7:30pm in the Council Chambers at 600 Tomlinson Drive, Port Elgin. Mark it on your calendar. Show your support for saving the 110 year old historic North Shore Park by attending this meeting. The Friends of North Shore Park would like to thank everyone for signing the petition!
