City council president Jake day responded to concerns last night, "this is not our project this is the counties project. The subject needs to be spoken with the county.” He added “This is just a start, just a small fraction to the conversation that people are having.” The City has already added stipulations to county about water quality to protect trails. He explained “The County would have to retain a hydrologists to ensure no measurable impact would happen with ball field being build. The original plan has been modified to reduce impact on forest. 85% would have been cut - now 15% of the trees would be taken out which would need to be replaced. The trails and the paleo channel are to be preserved if the county does create the ball field.” Next Step: sending county council members our list of petitioners.
