Sign the petition for ##RentersRights## We do not have Renters Rights in Hardin or Mcnairy Counties. TN state does have renters rights but doesnt include rural counties with less then 75,000 people. We know we have more then that in Hardin Co but they can only go by the last Census which is why it is very important to fill out the census for cases like this. But I started this petition bc a disabled woman from Savannah got evicted after she refused to pay her rent for 2 months thinking she had renters rights to do so because her landlord wouldnt fix the leaks and damage in the home from the leaks. However, the landlord took her to court. In court the judge ordered 10 days for her to move. 10 days is not enough time for anyone! Please help us by signing this petition for renters rights to be passed for ALL counties in TN no matter how many people live here. It should be applied for ALL counties! A person should be allowed atleast 30 days to get moved if they get evicted. In these renters rights a landlord should have a certain amount of time once the renter tells them about the issues that need fixed they should have certain amount of time to get it fixed or they get penalized for it somehow or home be shut down until gets fixed. Something needs done. It's not just this landlord its many others in Hardin Co and Mcnairy Co. Now dont get me wrong it is NOT all of them. Not all landlords are like this. There are some that are great and that keep up there places and maintenance and up to code. Homes should have to be checked inspected and passed before it can be rented. Yes this may cost money and may take time but will avoid ALOT of these issues. I know I may not be the smartest at some things so I dont know the correct wording of some of these laws that should be in the renters rights but how many of you and your loved ones been or is being affected by this issue. Something needs done. So please sign this petition. This petition in 4 days has now reached almost 200 and it has reached WBBJ NEWS TV, it has also reached the TN state Representative Mr.David Byrd.
