FLOE’s Patron, Peter Egan, and founder, Louise Owen, were interviewed on BBC Radio, about the Open Letter to animal experimenter Colin Blakemore, led by signatories Ricky Gervais, Peter Egan and Chris Packham. The letter spotlights laboratory Beagles bred by B&K Universal and calls for Prof. Blakemore to agree to debate his support of animal experiments, in a rigorous public scientific hearing, judged by independent experts from the relevant fields of science. Prof. Blakemore declined to be interviewed and instead had a written statement read out loud by a member of the BBC, which could not be addressed in person, by David Burns, the radio show’s presenter.
