Preeminent primatologist Dr. Jane Goodall has released a filmed statement calling for a rigorous medical science debate, with independent experts to judge experiments on animals. Dr Goodall’s film took centre stage at the recent EU Commission’s public hearing by the SCHEER Committee - on whether there is still a scientific need to experiment on non-human primates. Science-based campaign For Life On Earth (FLOE) introduced Dr Goodall’s film immediately after primate experimenter Prof. Roger Lemon addressed the hearing, so Dr. Goodall’s personal call for Lemon to agree to face his medical opposition in a peer-reviewed science debate was perfectly timed.
