A quick update to say a co-campaigner of mine who some of you may already be aware of called Natalie Kerr featured on a news item about the current Organ & Tissue donation crisis in the UK this evening. It was a great report as it has created a conversation which in turn raises awareness of the issue. I have included a link to the item below which is approximately 3.5 minutes long and well worth a watch as Natalie is a fantastic example of how many ways receiving a transplant can enrich your life, beyond the obvious of saving it: http://www.itv.com/news/granada/story/2016-10-19/woman-calls-for-law-change-to-encourage-more-organ-donations/ I would like to add although some of the figures quoted by the government are much more recent they are referring to a report which is now over 8 years-old and therefore I think needs reviewing. Also in regards to a Facebook commentor there is no way in this day and age a Doctor working within the UK could "bump someone off" to sell their organs even if they wanted to because it would be incredibly hard to cover up. Also Doctors are vetted before entering the medical profession and their main priority is always to save the life of their patients. The Doctors who carry out transplants are not the same ones who would be trying to save a potential donors life either. As you can tell it has sparked a lively debate. As usual please keep sharing the petition I cannot tell you how much your support means to me. I have a few hard copy packs of the petition left that you could display on a business reception desk etc - if you'd like one please do not hesitate to contact me directly on: optoutcampaign@gmail.com Kindest regards Lucy Ryan
