The British Transplant Games

It's been such a whirlwind week I barely know where to start. I was privileged enough to be able to participate in the British Transplant Games over the weekend in Liverpool for the countless time. It seems very obvious to say but had it not been for the brave & selfless decision my donor family made 23 years ago I wouldn't have lived much beyond 3-years-old let alone to 26 and be able to be involved in this wonderful campaign. It was an honour to spend time with such generous, grateful and positive people at the games just delighted they were able to run again as some this time last year were not able to get out of bed. It shows why transplantation is so amazing. Some transplantee put non transplantee the same age to shame as some are incredibly fit. For example a man who walked 5K in 28mins! I even managed to get a medal of each colour, whilst distributing hard copy packs of the petition.
