CDU member of the state parliament Michael Wäschenbach is now among our supporters!

Dear supporters,

We are happy to announce that our petition has been well received and that we can announce our first political supporter!

Michael Wäschenbach is CDU member of the state parliament in Rheinla and supports our initiative to the full extent.

The delegate consider 4 environmental objectives as strong arguments for the re-commissioning of the power plant:

1. The use of hydroelectric power as a base load capable possibility for electricity generation

2. The preservation of the nature-protected alluvial forest

3. The maintenance of the flood barrier and reconstruction in accordance with the submitted plans in order to ensure passability of fish in line with the EU Water Framework Directive

4. The conservation of the natural landscape in the immediate surrounding area of the power plant: the static water pressure generated by the damming of the water stabilizes surrounding bankments and buildings.

We are very pleased to welcome Michael Wäschenbach and his excellent arguments on our side!
