As an American citizen living in ______; I am writing to you today to ask you join your fellow politicians and leaders in their effort to help Ukrainian orphans reunite with their American host families.

During this particularly difficult time, families in the adoption process who have previously hosted Ukrainian orphans are desperately trying to ensure the safety of these children. As the war in Ukraine rages on, many families are seeking assistance to host the orphan once again into their homes back to the United States. Please join me in urging the Administration to approve (B-1/B-2) visas that would allow orphans to return to the families that previously hosted them in the United States. This is a commonsense solution to provide protection and stability for these Ukrainian orphans during this crisis. Allowing the children to receive the necessary individual care they need in time of trauma and crisis while alleviating the pressure on European countries.

While we appreciate the efforts the Administration is currently making to aid these orphans, we believe more can be done. Please join me in sending a letter to President Biden and Secretary Blinken urging the Administration to work expeditiously to protect vulnerable Ukrainian orphans and help reunite them with their American host families We believe these proposals are actionable because much of the necessary structures are already in place through US Hosting Programs. There are existing records for these children readily available from their original visa application, which will help identify which orphans would be eligible.

The American host families have demonstrated they can provide safe loving homes for these children. Pre-approved agreements between the US & Ukraine from their previous hosting already exist. Host Families have records of approval complete with background checks and home studies to participate in the hosting program. As such, we urge the Administration to move quickly to implement these proposals.
