As per the testimony of the Faculty of the department of social work and Students, Professor Mohan AK's arrest stems from a malicious and premeditated conspiracy orchestrated by a guest faculty member, Mr. Ramanand K, who sought to defame and malign Professor Mohan's reputation. Mr. Ramanand, whose tenure had expired on December 4, 2023, unlawfully occupied an office and continued to utilize university resources. Upon noticing this,
Professor Mohan, with the utmost integrity, sent an email to the Head of
Department (Social Work) on January 10, 2024, highlighting Mr. Ramanand's
unauthorized presence and resource misuse.

On the day of Professor Mohan's arrest, Mr. Ramanand, with a calculated plan to entrap Professor Mohan, approached his chamber seeking a meeting. Under the pretext of returning a monetary gift of ₹3,000 that Professor Mohan had extended during the COVID-19 crisis, Mr. Ramanand attempted to hand over the money. Professor Mohan, upholding the spirit of their professional relationship and the gesture of kindness, refused to accept the return of the money. Mr. Ramanand, not deterred by Professor Mohan's refusal, persisted in pushing the money towards him. In the process, the lower part of Professor Mohan's palm inadvertently touched the currency notes. Mr. Ramanand then abruptly left the chamber. Moments later, as students of Social Work, under Professor Mohan's guidance, entered his chamber for practicum guidance, vigilance officers unexpectedly stormed in. Without any prior notification or cause, they directly retrieved a packet from the floor beneath the visitor's chair, where the students had been sitting, and apprehended Professor Mohan.

The students, shocked by the sudden intrusion and the unjust arrest of their beloved professor, immediately left the chamber. Meanwhile, another student from the department arrived at the scene, and Professor Mohan requested that he document the incident. However, the vigilance officers, determined to uphold their wrongful actions, denied the student's request to record the proceedings.
This orchestrated scenario is a clear example of a malicious attempt to tarnish Professor Mohan's impeccable reputation and jeopardize his academic career. The actions of Mr. Ramanand, fueled by personal vendetta and disregard for ethical conduct, have created an atmosphere of fear and mistrust within the university community.
