More than 1,000 people are now asking the federal government to restore Los Diablos' authorization to cross into the U.S. and fight fires.

These firefighters have been protecting Big Bend and answering America's calls for help for 36 years. They have fought fires across Texas and the U.S., helped with disaster response, and are still sitting right across the river while Big Bend is left with fewer firefighting resources.

So, we're moving to the next step.

I'm asking Big Bend National Park, CBP/DHS, and our congressional office to tell us exactly what stopped the authorization in 2026, what needs to happen to restore it, and who has the authority to make that happen.
