Petition update
Dear All, thank you for signing the petition to restore the ‘HM Television (English)’ YouTube channel, which has gained over two thousand signatures now. By signing, you have added your voice to the collective call for YouTube to return the deleted channel to the Home of the Mother, and to reinstate the many hundreds of videos lost.
This includes the ‘All or nothing: Sr. Clare Crockett’ film, with its many millions of views, and its many years of comments and testimonies from around the world. The Servant Sisters have set up a new channel and have uploaded the film afresh, but the loss of the original version — which was a place of return and of shared testimony for the many who have been touched by Sr. Clare’s story — is profound.
Ultimately, YouTube’s unfair deletion of the channel and Sr. Clare’s film cannot simply be undone by starting again from scratch. The principle at stake here is that content producers like The Home of the Mother should be able to publish material proclaiming the truth of the Catholic faith, free from the threat of arbitrary deletion.
Yesterday Sr. Kristen Gardner SHM, author of the book “Alone with Christ Alone” about Sr. Clare, spoke to Robert Nugent about the situation. It’s worth a watch and they mention the petition at the end: https://youtu.be/rt6r0J8qJCg?si=Ve4D8iZRQ5iHjJut
Having signed the petition, the best thing you can do now is to share it as widely as possible and encourage other people to sign. It should be of interest to anyone who wants to stand up for Catholic content on YouTube and for freedom of religious expression in general.
If you have links to the mainstream Catholic media, then no doubt the Servant Sisters would appreciate your efforts in raising awareness of the issue through these means.
Thank you again for adding your voice to the petition and let’s hope that that with enough pressure, YouTube will reverse its action.
Thank you and God bless.
